Dedicated to providing child-care and education since 1896 and conveniently situated on the main Halifax road overlooking the picturesque Shibden Valley, our spacious schoolhouse has been especially designed and remodelled to create a warm, homely, loving and nurturing environment for your 21^st century child.

We have worked very hard to provide the highest quality nursery facilities, which will be appreciated by discerning parents when choosing a nursery for their child. As with all other nurseries we are OFSTED approved but at Shibden Head we regard this as a starting point not a goal, our policy of continual improvement in partnership with our parents and staff will ensure that our quality of service is the best available.

All our children’s areas are secure, self-contained and have facilities for your child’s needs. Our fabulous outdoor play area and garden give the children a chance to explore and become aware of their own environment.

Unobtrusive CCTV monitoring of entrances and outdoor areas is maintained at all times to help ensure the security and integrity of the site. The latest fire and smoke detection equipment is installed throughout the nursery.

Whilst in our care children are able to participate in our fun packed daily routine with a wide variety of play and learning experiences, ensuring your child has the opportunity to develop skills to their full potential.

We have a permanent Internet link, which is available in all areas of the Nursery allowing older children the opportunity to e-mail and ‘surf the net’ under experienced supervision enabling them to gain confidence and familiarity with modern technology.

On the ground floor we have our kitchen, dining area for the older children, pre-school hall, toddler room and toilet block with full disabled toilet facilities.

Three meals a day are provided with snacks in between. All the food is prepared and cooked in our nursery kitchen by our cook. Menus have been designed to provide a healthy, nutritious balanced diet and special dietary requirements will be catered for.

Shibden Head services and facilities are designed with busy working parents in mind, to ensure the best of care and mitigate the rush at the start and end of the day.

We provide all Formula milk, nappies, wipes, creams, etc. so there is no need for mum/dad or carer to worry about preparing their child’s ‘luggage’ before nursery. Just bring your child to us and carry on with your day, we will see to everything else.
We open earlier and close later than most nurseries to enable you to best fit in with your other daily commitments.
We employ only qualified, experienced and caring staff because your peace of mind in the reassurance that you are leaving your most precious possession in safe hands is of the utmost importance.
